When adjusted for inflation, wages have remained virtually unchanged over the last 50 years, with workers today earning just 12 cents more than they did in 1972. And with inflation at its highest since 1971, Americans are feeling the pain of slow wage growth. Two-thirds of American workers said that inflation has outpaced any salary gains made in the past year. But some economists argue that the concept is merely a myth politicians use to promote their careers. So, how real is wage stagnation in America today and what does it mean for American workers? Watch the video to find out.

Modern day slavery
keep <,up the great work. You are truly an asset to the community. Thanks for all you do! I like your truthful coverage. The price of BTC has been fluctuating lately, buying the capitulation is not a difficult decision, but it is a very difficult challenge to understand what to do apart from holding. The good thing about the space is that you can buy the dips and put them into active trades, while confidently waiting for a price at the pump because it's inevitable. Most people don't understand how space works. Your advantage is understanding, charts do not guarantee what an asset will do. Prices will go up or down. However, the market has been so profitable despite the high and low prices. I have always played safe by implementing trades with insights and signals from a renowned trader, Hamilton Phoebe Zoe. I have earned 10.5 BTC since the recent crash and, despite the ups and downs of the market, I am still making more money.
I think this is a pretty good way to essentially say that corporate greed is why wages are stagnant. Productivity/profits skyrocketed with tech and companies realized they didn’t have to pay more. Then they realized there were stragies to keep you at the low pay. I think the younger generation is def realizing this and the pandemic just helped.
meanwhile our dikkkless prezident is giving money away like his health depended on it… too bad it doesn't. #BLDM
because they are happy to work for less. Why would you pay X whey you can find workers that work for less?
Central bank off gold standard in the 70s no coincidence
Irresponsible Journalism computer media tampering articles explain what is being hidden and what crimes are your organization a accomplish in committing.
No interest in Sterotyping individuals or elderly to exploit control. Research the facts and seek help in comprehending the actual truth.
To keep the people under wage slavery so the corporations can control the country. It's not very hard to understand.
Because the people who have the money are stingy and selfish. Duh. You don't need much of a video let alone from a so called news outlet to know. Ask them why minimum Wage isn't keeping up with the interest rates and inflation like it should… Tsk… Humans
Settling up an investment that would benefit you is something one would be aiming towards. I wasn’t really a fan of online business because I have actually been doubting this all my life because I have been taken before by several scammers. But after my encounter with William. my prospective of online trade changes and I I’m now a millionaire from bitcoin.
Why aren't wages increasing? Ask Shitzberg, Swindelstein, & Co. on Wall Street and they'll tell you why.
Record profits for corporations are UNPAID WAGES. The truth is republicans SCREWED our country 50 years ago. Our system is unsustainable and it’s time to step up and say enough. Vote for progressive politicians who are going to do something. Stop voting republicans who make the system worse and stop voting for democrats who continue to sit around and do absolutely nothing.
Inflation Reduction Act Will Not Reduce Inflation. Social spending instead of balancing a budget. Democrats policies are hurting working American families. Spending another trillion dollars will only increase future inflation. Democrats & Rhino Republicans must be voted out of office. Tell me how spending trillions of dollars has helped working families & small businesses. Look for tax increases. This is insane stop spending money you don’t have.
I get paid too much… things are just way too expensive. Increase wages means increase cost as well.
Surprised and disappointed to see CNBC have a commentator from the Koch brother-founded-and-funded Cato institute. Not surprised that he thinks wage stagflation is a myth.
Corporate greed 🤔
$27 average my ass. Most people I know make $10 or less.
Plus these high tax rates, this country boy I tell ya
My first car cost me $800 dollars it was crap but you can't even buy a crap car for less than $5000 now
The problem is to much technology
I don't need a car with a computer I need a car to get to work nothing is practical anymore nobody cares about functionality anymore it's all about the gadgets
No I'm can't buy alot more yes I make more today than I did in the 1990's but I get less for it the only company that hasn't raised prices is Arizona ice tee why because they don't waist money advertising
I owned three cars in the 1990's gave them away minimum wage was like $5.50 now I struggle to keep one on the road it costs me around $2000 for tires alone my first car cost me like $300 for tires
When they be like $300,000 in the 80's was like being a millionaire today well that's sad that's not improvement our impressive it's just a sad excuse to say yeah this crap sucks today
My company wonders why they cant find or hold employees LOL… Im trying to move up, but if I just wanted a paycheck id already be gone.
All raising minimum wage to 15 would do is create more inflation
With $7B+ ppl on the planet this problem is going to get worse, not better.
DUH TO KEEP US IN SLAVE TO THE JOB BELIEVE ME I KNOW FROM EMPLOYEE TO C.E.O.
Wrong, we worked a lot less hours to buy a car or house back in the 70s then today. Compare average income in the 70s to average housing cost in the 70s.. much different than today.. we now get far less with our annual salaries today.
The big problem of it is these big box corporations are greedy and want to work their employees to the Bone like their slaves while they sit on their big butts and do nothing. They forget that without their employees they wouldn't have a business because most managers are lazy and it's the employees that are holding up the whole house.
