The NBA is looking into allegations made against Thunder guard Josh Giddey, a league spokesman confirmed to The Post on Friday.
Giddey offered “no comment” on Friday when asked about assertions the 21-year-old engaged in an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl.
The claims surfaced Wednesday night on social media.
“I understand the query obviously, but no further comment immediately,” Giddey told reporters, who pressed him repeatedly. “I get the query guys, I completely understand you must learn about it, but only for immediately, I don’t have anything to say.”
Thunder coach Mark Daigneault offered the identical response when the subject got here up at Friday’s practice.
“Personal matter,” he said. “I don’t have any comment on that and that will probably be my answer on anything related.”
The 6-foot-8 Australian is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 43.5% over 15 games this season, his third within the NBA after the Thunder made him the sixth-overall pick within the 2021 draft.
He’s played a key role within the Thunder’s six-game win streak, which has seen them improve to 11-4, second to the Minnesota Timberwolves (11-3) within the Western Conference.
Giddey added 10 points, six rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes in a 116-102 win over the Bulls, on Wednesday.
