There’s a recent packing hack that’s sweeping TikTok — and if you’ve kids, you could wish to listen up.
Some mothers are using hanging, over-the-door shoe organizers to pack their children’s clothes for a vacation, and plenty of are gushing over its amazing practicality.
One creator, Jade O’Neal, shared the hack in a video last month that reached over 2.6 million views on the social media app.
“For those who’re traveling with a baby, this hack is about to alter your life,” she announced within the 29-second clip.
O’Neal showed the hanging organizer that she had bought from Amazon, and explained that she folded each different outfit that her daughter could be wearing into the several pockets — even accessories.
“I did three rows of outfits, after which swimsuits were their very own row, pajamas were their very own row, and put extras on the underside,” she explained.
The mom-of-two continued, “This folds up right in your suitcase, once you get to your destination you may just hang it on a door in your hotel room, after which every thing is super accessible, able to go, and also you don’t must dig around in a suitcase your entire vacation.”
She also shared clips demonstrating how exactly she folds up the organizer into her suitcase.
And, this month, one other creator, Stephanie Joplin, tried out the hack for herself — an endeavor that garnered 7.3 million views on TikTok.
“I attempted the viral packing hack to your kids, and lemme let you know, it’s gonna be a game-changer,” Joplin, who goes by the username @betterwithchardonnay, gushed.
She explained that she organized her shoe hanger based on the several days her kids could be wearing the outfits.
“I’m using this one organizer to pack two toddlers for a six day trip,” she explained. “You may pack up all their outfits after which use the underside part for any excess clothing, or other items that you just need.”
The Post reached out to each creators for comment.
And, even though it’s unclear where exactly this hack first originated, it looks like other parents have tried out the hack in alternative ways, with some even using hanging cubbies to pack up their kids, seen on Cubbyathome.com in 2021.
In February, TikToker and content creator Desirae Barnett made a video demonstrating how she packs up her 4 kids for a five-day trip — and used the hanging cubbies to bring a few of their clothes with them, garnering over 3 million views.
She also showed how she organized all of their snacks and toys, putting a variety of them into separate pouches.
Within the comments section of Joplin’s video, many individuals were impressed by the hack, and desired to try it out for themselves.
“This is ideal for my tiny apartment!!!” one user wrote. “Thanks!!!”
One other agreed, typing, “OMG that is pure genius.”
“I’m so going to do this for our holiday next 12 months,” another person seconded.
