McDonald’s introduced the world to the Comfortable Meal in June of 1979. At that time, I used to be a junior in highschool and far too old to be buying a child’s meal. There was an element of me that felt like I had missed out. When news got here out that McDonald’s could be offering an “Adult Comfortable Meal” for a limited time, I got excited.
McDonald’s began seeling the The “Adult Comfortable Meals” on Monday, October third. In fact I needed to try one on the primary day! But, the meal did include a number of surprises…
Surprise #1 — The Price
You may order the “Adult Comfortable” Meal with either a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets together with a medium fry and drink. I select the Big Mac for my meal. A Big Mac Meal by itself is $8.19 on the McDonald’s app. By ordering that meal as a Comfortable Meal combo — with the special box and a toy — adds an extra $2.20 to that meal. Ordering the meal on the drive thru was $10.99 plus tax (30 cents greater than ordering through the app). The full cost for my “Adult Comfortable Meal” was $11.65.
Surprise #2 — The Name
The “Adult Comfortable Meal” is definitely named the “Cactus Plant Flea Market Box”. What’s that every one about? This name comes from the collaboration with the Cactus Plant Flea Market fashion brands for this promotion. In the event you go to the Cactus Plant Flea Market website, you’re immediately re-directed to a page that sells several McDonald’s items…from hoodies, to t-shirts, and sweatpants. If you order the meal because the “Adult Comfortable Meal”, the employees will know what you would like. Trying to recollect the “Cactus Plant Flea Market Box” is a bit of wordy.
Surprise #3 — The Graphics on the Box
After I first saw the box pictured on the electronic menu board, I believed there was an issue with the graphic. All of the characters had two sets of eyes. After I was handed my “Adult Comfortable Meal” I clearly saw, with my very own two eyes, that every one the characters on the box did indeed have 4 eyes! I’m guessing this has to do with the Cactus Plant marketing not directly, nevertheless it is weird seeing everyone from the Hamburgler, to Grimace, to even Ronald McDonald with an additional set of eyes.
Surprise #4 — The Strange Toy
I wasn’t given a alternative of toys and I do not know if they are going to let you choose the precise toy you would like or not. The toys are little plastic figurines of Grimace, Hamburglar and Birdie the Early Bird. There may be a fourth toy, a bit of yellow person called Cactus Buddy who’s wearing a McDonald’s shirt. (Why no Ronald McDonald?) The entire toys have — you guessed it — 4 eyes. Why?! I even did a Google search online and plenty of people have asked that query. There isn’t a real answer as to why all of the characters with this promotion have the double set of peepers. My hope was to get either the Hamburglar or Grimace. To my surprise, I opened the little package and located Grimace! Nevertheless, I used to be dissatisfied after I saw him with 4-eyes — I wanted a 2-eyed version!
