Jana Kramer’s upcoming Lifetime movie, “A Cowboy Christmas Romance,” is the network’s first Christmas movie with a sex scene.
The “One Tree Hill” alum, who was pregnant along with her and fiancé Allan Russell’s son Roman during filming, spoke concerning the milestone Monday on her “Whine Down” podcast.
“It’s the primary [Lifetime] Christmas movie that has a sex scene,” she explained. “Once I read it, I used to be like, ‘Well, that is gonna be interesting.’ I’m like, ‘How are we gonna do that with the newborn belly?’”
Kramer, 39, portrays Lexie Crenshaw, an actual estate “closer” who returns to her hometown of Tubac, Arizona, to attempt to persuade Coby Mason, a horse-whispering rancher (Adam Senn), to provide up his family’s land while also reconsidering returning home to her roots.
In regards to the steamy scene, Kramer opined: “We’re on this — spoiler alert — he lays me down on some hay, after which we, you recognize … After which, you recognize, obviously, it’s still Lifetime, it’s still family. Nevertheless it was pushing limits there, too.”
Kramer also used her real-life baby bump as a punchline on set.
“I used to be like, ‘We made a baby,’” she recalled joking to Senn, 39.
“Grey’s Anatomy” alum Sarah Drew, 43, was a author on the film — she admitted she stood firm on keeping the boundary-bending scene in the ultimate product.
“All of it got here out so beautifully, but especially the scene within the kitchen. I had written into the stage directions, ‘He pulls her up onto the counter, he shoves things off the table,’” Drew told Kramer on the podcast.
“I put all of it in there, so I used to be like, ‘Don’t take the steam and the sex away from me. I wrote it on purpose, I need it in there.’”
Kramer echoed her sentiment about putting “all of it in there” as she claimed Lifetime “didn’t cut anything” from the intimate scene.
“I used to be so glad that they really left all of it in there,” she agreed.
The Post has contacted Kramer and Senn reps for comment.
“A Cowboy Christmas Romance” premieres on Lifetime on Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. EST.
