Double the difficulty.
Gabriella Vigorito has an overbearing mom — and it’s getting in the best way of her forming a romantic relationship.
The Connecticut-based social media influencer, 23, told NeedToKnow.co.uk that her mom, Catherine Galasso-Vigorito, 56, believes they’re a package deal on the dating scene.
“My mom could be very protective over me, so it’s caused some problems [in relationships] because she wants me to at all times be hanging out together with her – nobody else,” she explained.
“When I even have boyfriends, mom says we’re within the ‘love triangle,’” she added.
Gabriella, 23, also believes that her prospective paramours are “intimidated” resulting from her mom’s youthful beauty.
Actually, the mother and daughter are sometimes mistaken for being twins, despite their 33-year age gap.
Catherine is a former Miss Connecticut USA winner and desires for her daughter to be crowned Miss USA and Miss Universe sometime within the near future.
Gabriella has began competing in beauty pageants and aspires to be just as successful as her mother.
“I even have been competing since I used to be 19 and I’ve placed as a top five finalist, but I’m not giving up on my dream to follow in mama’s footsteps and bag the identical title she landed,” she enthused.
Meanwhile, the pair’s very close relationship hasn’t just caused problems with Gabriella’s love life — it’s also caused friction within the family.
Gabriella’s sisters, Lauren, 24 and Sophia, 18, bristle on the duo’s dependency on each other.
“My siblings don’t prefer it and so they won’t take part in any respect – we call them the ‘easy sisters,’” Gabriella said. “They don’t support mom and me matching, but they do support my social media endeavors and modeling profession.”
Nonetheless, despite the family drama and the romantic obstacles, Gabriella says she wouldn’t change a thing about her mom.
“I like being my mom’s twin, it makes me feel really great,” Gabriella gushed. “She is so beautiful and I look as much as her – she’s my biggest inspiration.”
Catherine also spoke out concerning the tight bond she shares together with her middle daughter.
“I find it very complimentary, being confused as her sister,” she explained. “It brings us closer together and I’d recommend it for any mother and daughter.”
“She’s my twin and my best friend,” the mama enthused.
