The heatwave in the UK is being caused by hot air which is being drawn up from Continental Europe and Africa.
While temperatures in the UK could hit 40C in the coming days, on mainland Europe they’ve already soared to 47C, which combined with high winds, are leading to devastating wildfires which are burning thousands of acres of land and causing thousands of people to have to flee their homes.
