This time, a win with rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift in attendance couldn’t prevent Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce from leaving “pissed off.”
Kelce told The Athletic he was furious in regards to the offense, which struggled against the Jets defense of their 23-20 win Sunday.
Kelce caught six passes for 60 yards, but Patrick Mahomes (203 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions) was outplayed by Zach Wilson (245 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions) and Gang Green had a likelihood to tie the sport — or take the lead — midway through the fourth quarter before a costly fumble by Wilson.
“I spoke with Travis Kelce walking off the sphere tonight and he was not joyful. He was pissed off in regards to the offense,” The Athletic’s Dianna Russini wrote on X, formerly often known as Twitter, about her conversation with Kelce while walking off the MetLife Stadium field.
“He mentioned penalties and mistakes were costly they usually did nothing to assist the defense tonight. It was a win but not how they wanted.”
Once Wilson fumbled, the Chiefs orchestrated a 15-play, 45-yard drive that drained the ultimate 7:24 off the clock.
The Jets had reached Kansas City’s 49-yard line before the turnover — just needing a field goal to finish the 17-point comeback and tie the sport.
Mahomes threw an 8-yard pass to Kelce on the ultimate drive and had one other completion called back as a result of an offensive holding penalty.
Still, outside of any lingering frustration over how close the Jets kept their game against the reigning Super Bowl champions, Kelce spent one other night within the NFL and popular culture highlight with Swift in attendance.
Kelce visited Swift’s apartment Sunday morning after she spent the previous night in Recent York City with Sophie Turner, Blake Energetic and Brittany Mahomes, while Kelce dined individually at Meduza Mediterrania, in line with Page Six.
Then, Swift became the star of NBC’s broadcast, with camera cutting to her 17 times at different points throughout the night, in line with The Athletic.
She sat next to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Energetic, conversed with Kelce’s mother, Donna, and even joined Mahomes at times throughout the sport.
But unlike last weekend, when Swift and Kelce left Arrowhead Stadium in his convertible and went to a postgame celebration at Prime Social Rooftop, the duo left MetLife Stadium individually.
The subsequent stop for the Kelce-Swift tour, if the singer continues traveling to the Chiefs’ games, will occur in Minnesota next weekend, because the Chiefs face the Vikings with the possibility for his or her offense to seek out a rhythm and top 23 points for just the second time this season.
