CNBC Marathon explores how companies are cashing in on summer.
Over the last several decades, a growing number of Americans have chosen to spend more time and money on swimming pools. Many Americans are moving to the suburbs, migrating to warmer states and increasingly looking to make their own yards better places to spend time. Most pools can be found in California, Texas and Florida, but population growth in other Southern states is escalating the demand for pool construction and supplies. Pool Corporation, one of the largest pool supply distributers, has seen its stock price soar. Retailers and distributors such as Leslieβs and Pool Corp. are aiming to conquer the large and growing pool supply market, which offers pretty steady revenues from consumers trying to keep their pool water from turning green.
The outdoor deck is another summer staple. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Americans stuck at home started to take a hard look at their surroundings, leading to a home improvement boom. Skyrocketing demand and historically high lumber prices bear excellent fortune for a couple of publicly traded companies that make a rather humble-sounding product β fake wood decks. Two of the biggest names in this space are Trex and AZEK. Together they control 75 percent of the composite decking market.
In addition to pools and decks, about a third of Americans spend at least some time on a boat. In the landscape of recreational power sports, which includes boats, some categories have seen their fair share of struggles in recent years. But boat industry revenues have been mostly growing. Boat sales have seen a boost during Covid, but some analysts think the growth is poised to continue.

Well…now we know there's more to pool boys and stay home mums than they let in
Pools and pleasure boats. A massive waste of resources to feed the vanity of the wealthy that probably stick their noses up at gasoline cars while they raise everyone's energy bills when they plug in their 3 Teslas, the phone, their pool pump, their 37 security cameras, and record tic tok while they trade bitcoin.
All about the money π°
Letβs go Brandon!!
A pool is some of the most discretionary of discretionary spending. Money spent on these things plummet during a recession. Not to mention if people lose interest, a pool is a liability. Increasing insurance costs; and can make a property difficult to sell to someone who doesn't want a pool. And there are many people who are not at all interested in a pool
Note to editor; if you're guest doesn't have a microphone and as a result sounds like they're in an echo chamber. Please don't insult your viewers by using that
Itβs mid 2022, why donβt you show us stock prices from end of 2021 till now?
Long story short: the rich get richer while more suffer every day.
Why is the sound quality so bad?
"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17.,
"Americans struck at home" America never locked down so where is this demand coming from?

A future opportunity exists in the Southwest—— Importing bulk ice from the Antarctic to fill your pool since there is no longer enough water to support basic domestic needs.
I wanted a house with a pool when I was a child. But after seeing pool rots in real life and watching a lot of those pool cleaning videos, I donβt want that. I just want a place thatβs doesnβt break down and easy to take care of. A pool would be a nightmare.
More msm BS.
Lol when did the millennial dream change⦠lol they are burnt out

very informative
what is this growth? people have money? I thought it's fear and doom because of the impending recession!!! Media manipulating everything
nice ads for the companies. did they pay for it?
I'm so sick of hearing about investors. Freaking people always trying to make a buck off of a market, only to run the market amuck with problems, usually flipping a good thing on its head, ending up in outrageous inflated costs. Same peoples who have screwed up the housing market. I get people want to make money, but what's happening now is that investors are jumping from one market to another to reap its spoils and burn it to the ground only to then jump to another and do the same, over and over again. This is why we have such inflation. The rich and those tryin to get rich is ruining the country. Making things worse. No wonder the cost of a common smartphone rivals that of ones mortgage and or rental payments.
California is having serious water shortage and they are promoting pools….. just start an avocado farm as well, why not. I will never understand the Americans…..they are asking ppl to conserve water, the rich go ahead and put in pools, they tell ppl the sea levels will rise!! So they go and buy up all the shorelines and build homes to enjoy for themselves…. what a world we live in.
Thanks for letting us know about the next bubble: Pools…
Interesting this video autoplayed after one about how we're all running out of water and California counties are patrolling lawns over sprinklers…
Yet the government is only a mandate away from forbidding any NON medical pool to use precious water.
My wife hired three pool boys and we don't even have a pool?
The boat part, boats are a giant hole in the water you throw money into. My family had a dock with boats and jets skis. They are a pain to maintain. You have to do preventive maintenance on them like taking care of a new born baby or it does not start and the expensive mechanic comes. Only reason to have a boat is if you fish for food a lot or it saves you money on rent, like in California. Look at Russian billionaires, their boats got seized and I am sure Uncle Sam is not doing preventive maintenance.
