Gwyneth Paltrow and the retired optometrist who sued her crossed paths again, this time to mark the tip of their ski crash trial Thursday.
As Paltrow left the Utah courtroom victorious and $1 richer, she touched Dr. Terry Sanderson’s shoulder and reportedly whispered, “I wish you well,” in line with video footage obtained by The Post.
He appeared to say, “Thanks, dear,” with little emotion.
The actress, 50, smiled and waved at photographers outside the court, capping a wild eight-day trial that grabbed international headlines for every little thing from the Oscar winner’s Jeffrey Dahmer-style glasses to her off-the-wall remarks.
After deliberating for about two-and-a-half hours, jurors found Sanderson, 76, was in charge for the 2016 ski slope collision, and never the Goop founder.
“We’re pleased with the consequence and appreciate the judge and jury’s consideration,” Paltrow’s attorney, Steven Owens, said in an announcement outside the courtroom.
“Gwyneth has a history of standing up for what’s right and this case is not any different. She is going to proceed to rise up for what’s right.”
An announcement was also released by Paltrow’s representatives on her behalf.
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity,” Paltrow said. “I’m pleased with the consequence and I appreciate all the labor of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for his or her thoughtfulness in handling this case.”
The Post contacted reps for Sanderson for comment.
Sanderson sued Paltrow in 2019 for $3.1 million, claiming the crash on the Deer Valley ski resort left him brain-impaired and damaged his relationships with others.
After a judge dismissed his initial grievance, Sanderson refiled for $300,000.
Paltrow countersued for just $1 — plus her likely six-figure legal fees — which the jury awarded her as they agreed the crash was Sanderson’s fault.
Paltrow maintained her composure Thursday as Judge Kent Holmberg delivered the decision, though she did let a bit smile poke through.
A whole bunch of 1000’s of individuals watched the live stream of the trial, while much more followed footage posted to social media.
In a single heavily-criticized clip, Sanderson’s lawyers asked Paltrow how the crash affected her.
“Well, I lost half a day of skiing,” she icily said.
Sanderson, meanwhile, made a bizarre comparison Wednesday between Paltrow and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which the judge instructed the jury to disregard.
