Arnold Schwarzenegger thinks the concept of heaven is only a “fantasy.”
The “Terminator” star, 75, spoke about his thoughts on what happens after death after actor Danny DeVito, 78, posed the query, “What’s in the longer term for us?”
“It jogs my memory of Howard Stern’s query to me. ‘Tell me, governor, what happens to us after we die?’ I said, ‘Nothing. You’re 6 feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f–king liar,’” Schwarzenegger said in a conversation for Interview Magazine.
“I said, ‘We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an authority in, but I do know that the body as we see one another now, we’ll never see one another again like that.’”
The “Predator” star admitted that speaking about death makes him uncomfortable.
“When people speak about, ‘I’ll see them again in heaven,’ it sounds so good, but the truth is that we won’t see one another again after we’re gone. That’s the sad part. I do know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t,” he said.
The previous California Gov. said he had lost about 15 friends from back in his bodybuilding days within the last twenty years, and said the tragic news forced him to shift his perspective on afterlife.
“To me, heaven is where I put a one who I really like dearly, who’s kind, who’s generous, who made a difference in my life and other people’s lives,” he explained.
“I keep them in a spot in my head, like that front row that you could have of all of your folks. And you usually have an excellent feeling while you consider them.”
Elsewhere, the actor recently revealed the shocking moment he “crushed” his ex-wife Maria Shriver’s heart by revealing he was the daddy of their housekeeper Mildred Baena’s son, Joseph.
Within the upcoming three-part Netflix documentary “Arnold,” Schwarzenegger said that Shriver, 67, confronted him in 2011 through their marriage counselor regarding his parentage, based on The Sun.
“She desires to know when you’re the daddy of Joseph,” the counselor said regarding Joseph, who was born in 1997.
“I believed my heart stopped,” said the previous movie star. “After which I told the reality. Yes, Maria. Joseph is my son,” Schwarzenegger replied — noting that his then-wife “was obviously crushed by that.”
