“Minions: The Rise of Gru” took the top spot at the box office over the weekend, bringing in more than $108 million. Part of what may be driving the movie’s success is an unusual viral TikTok trend dubbed “Gentle Minions,” where large groups of teens dress up in formal attire to go see the movie.

And to the Boomers that think this is stupid, you must have a boring life.
Gen z to the moon
Karens theatre in the cinema my friend went they even let them in
"GWENTELMENIONS" wtf
Minions really paying their salaries
Seen a TikTok trend where teens dressing up as Gru and ruining it for the rest seeing the movie, shouting during the movie, throwing stuff at the screen just making lot of complaints
This explains why when I went to go watch The Bad Guys, I see a bunch of teens in suits- I thought it was a prom thing or something but… I now know why
The fact they don't get its ironic is hilarious
my cousin did this, with 62 friends
Nah but for real, Universal should be thankful for all these free publicity. I heard the movie has done really well so far, such is the power of memes and ironic humor.
I like how these old talking heads are so clueless and to what the tick tick is, I don’t know either but if I were going to cover the news I would do my homework.
Tho, I would definitely not do such thing like this irl, I see nothing wrong with this trend. It's not like other tiktok trend that harm the people doing it or the ones around them
My son did this, l just went with it. I did ask why, but l didn't get an actual logical answer, so as usual my GenZ kids are a mystery to me…..
My music gonna be all over the world someday! 🎙🔥⛽️
Went to see it yesterday and loved it. There were people wearing suits but nothing disruptive happened.
Everyone clapped when the movie ended and not a single piece of popcorn on the ground.
The problem with this trend is most of these teens are destroying property and ruining other people's experience. I work at a movie theater where this trend happened and the mess they left behind was unacceptable and should not just be wrote off to the fact that they are young. They even damaged the luxury seating and movie screen, they were kicked out after this and threats of physical harm to employees and customers. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated.
1:22 They kinda are expected to say they because their parent company owns Minions lol
Give the Minions marketing team a raise
Supposed to be tux, or can rock that Lex Fridman? And still active or only for opening weekend?
Minions: rise of gru
For Giga-chads and people who only wear suits
Barney Stinson: LEGEN… Wait For It DARY
There's cinemas that won't let people in suits in to watch minions.. Its like… Why. What harm are these kids doing!? I think that this is hilarious
Kinda Reminds me of when I went to see Minions I saw people doing the Gentleminion trend. I already knew about it so When they were walking By I said “Chads” while pointing at em. They laughed and one gave me a Fist Bump. I know the trend may be dumb But they have Balls. And they’re using them. And I’m proud of it.
