Twitter is closing down its Seattle offices and telling employees to make money working from home because the social media giant continues to chop costs under the leadership of recent CEO Elon Musk, in line with reports.
The move comes as Twitter is facing eviction from Seattle’s Century Square Tower because the company has stopped paying rent, sources conversant in the matter told The Latest York Times.
Tech news publication Platformer reported that those that worked on the Seattle office have been told to work remotely, in line with an email sent to employees.
Twitter will likely now only have offices in Latest York City and San Francisco, in line with the report. Nonetheless, the corporate has also reportedly been skipping rent at its Bay Area headquarters.
In accordance with the Times report, the corporate had cut janitorial and security services on the Seattle office, leaving some employees to bring their very own toilet paper to work.
In November, 208 employees on the Seattle offices lost their jobs after Musk slashed Twitter’s 7,500-person workforce in half, in line with The Seattle Times.
Since Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion, its workforce is down 75%, in line with The Latest York Times.
Musk said earlier this month he plans to step down as CEO once he finds someone to exchange him.
