Trader Joe’s recalled its pre-made falafel balls over concerns they might contain rocks — the fourth item the shop has pulled from shelves in every week.
Customers from 34 states and Washington, DC should ditch their boxes of Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Falafel from any time period, the mega grocery chain announced Friday.
Trader Joe’s has already destroyed all boxes of the possibly rock-riddled chickpea bites that were distributed by its supplier.
“In the event you purchased or received any donations of Fully Cooked Falafel, please don’t eat them,” the corporate said in a recall notice.
A Trader Joe’s spokesperson told The Post that a vendor alerted the corporate to the pebble issue immediately before the recall was issued.
When asked how the rocks landed contained in the food boxes, the corporate said “there was a problem within the manufacturing processes.”
“We don’t hesitate or wait for regulatory agencies to inform us what to do. We’ll never leave to likelihood the protection of the products we provide,” the representative said.

The announcement comes just at some point after the corporate recalled 1000’s of cases of broccoli cheddar soup since the product “has insects within the frozen broccoli florets.”
Moreover, last Friday, Trader Joe’s issued a recall for 2 signature cookies: it’s Almond Windmill Cookies and Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies.
The treats were yanked from shelves after the corporate said it was alerted of the “potential foreign material” by a supplier.
The corporate recalled its Almond Windmill and Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond earlier this week for a similar contamination issue.
In line with SafeFood360, stones or pebbles usually tend to contaminate food products during harvest season, which usually falls between July and November within the US.
Rock contamination is commonest in items that use raw material from fields, equivalent to nuts, fruits, and vegetables, the food safety company explained.
Trader Joe’s is offering a full refund for purchasers that purchased the possibly pebble-packed items.
