The pandemic may be over, but working remotely is a trend that is set to remain as millennials and Gen Z’s proceed to work while visiting their favorite destinations.
That is in line with WorkMotion, a Berlin-based human resource platform, which analyzed 85 cities across the globe to see how easy and attractive they were for distant staff.
The report refers to “workcation” as a brief term residence — of about 12 months or fewer — in a rustic while working remotely for a existing employer.
The cities were graded based on the next categories:

- Distant working infrastructure
- Visitor experience
- Safety
- Health-care access
- Housing access
- Mobility
- Happiness
- Income tax rate
- Food and housing affordability
“When identifying possible destinations for [workcation], distant staff must consider a variety of things starting from the sensible to the desirable,” said Carsten Lebtig, co-Founder and managing director of WorkMotion.

Only 17 out of the 85 cities offer a digital nomad visa for distant staff.

Barcelona achieved an ideal rating within the study, with housing affordability, food affordability and visitor experiences rating above the opposite aspects that were studied.
The glitzy desert city of Dubai is the just one out of the 85 that provides a zero-income tax rate. It also scored greater than 95 on safety and security, in addition to mobility.
Prague got here in third place, and was awarded a high rating for safety and security, access to housing and housing affordability.
“Many distant staff are drawn to cities by the promise of a distinct lifestyle or climate.
