A pair discovered a secret room contained in the house they’d lived in for years before, sparking social media to create several theories on how the previous tenants used the space.
TikTok user Aurora Blazingstar captured the moment her husband pushed a portion of a wall out of the technique to reveal an open metal door and a small room inside their partitions.
“What the f–k, we’ve got never seen this in our house and we’ve got lived here for 4 years,” Blazingstar said in a video posted earlier this month.
The key room was discovered when the couple was removing carpet of their basement, only to find the “sliding drywall pocket door.”
The couple proposed several uses the previous homeowner and builder made the room including a bomb shelter, panic room, and gun protected.
The elongated room contained a working light switch and bulb, several wires hanging on the wall, a drain, 4 mats and “rust” patches on the ground.
The questionable spots on the bottom drew concern from Blazingstar who suggested calling the police and bringing in a canine to analyze.
“Should we usher in a cadaver dog?” the forensic nurse asked. “No, they’ve probably had a gun protected in here.”
Blazingstar’s husband, a physician stood within the doorway the whole video, gave his own theory of what the room was meant to be.
“I believe this was meant as a sort of panic room.”
The local police were eventually called to the house to analyze the mysterious room but found no evidence of any crime, Blazingstar said in a subsequent video.
As they exited the enclosed space the couple got here up with ideas on utilizing the newly discovered extra space.
“This could be a guest room, in case your mother desires to stay,” Blazingstar’s husband said.
The unique video, posted on March 22, has been viewed over 1.3 million times.
The homeowners claim they recently discovered the room since the sliding wall was behind a big bookshelf, with the one part misplaced being missing drywall at the bottom of the wall.
The creepy room within the basement wasn’t the just one built contained in the home.
Blazingstar shared that one other room was situated upstairs and is used as her children’s playroom, which is found behind a wall mirror.
“They didn’t see any signs of crime, they will not be investigating anything, they didn’t see anything that looked like DNA evidence that needed to be collected, but they were really impressed on how the room was hidden and that’s was really cool.”
In follow-up videos, the couple showed their children the room, with their older daughter stepping inside onto the questionable flooring with bare feet, while the youngest son carried what looked to be a cross with him.
Despite all of the evidence Blazingstar gave contained in the room, many social media users still gave their opinions and theories of the rooms previous use.
“Ma’am, that screams murder room. You’ll be able to only open the door from the skin, there may be a floor drain and “rust” on the ground. I believe you guys must have the police are available and have a look at that,” one commenter said.
