The recovery tech industry claims to help athletes bounce back after sports training. Players endorse everything from massage guns from makers like Theragun to cryo-chambers. But the science behind much of it is questionable–at best.

Too many quick cuts. Gave me a headache 👎
Most athletes and physiotherapists lack a sciency background which makes them easy prey to wishful thinking.
I use Rkovr massager. Works like magic for me for a fraction of the cost. Only $69.99
As a former pro athlete now working a 9 to 5, I get the skepticism shown based on the research. However, she answered the question when she said "…it only showed marginal gains.". Marginal gains IS what is being looked for. All people training are going to be equal to some degree. But that 1-2% better in a marginal gain makes the difference. Those “TheraGun” devices have existed on the consumer market loooong before 2016, I bought one on Amazon in 2010. This is just another example of someone copying an existing device and selling it on Instagram for 10x the price. I promise you that story about patients “stealing” his are completely made up.
Fire the reporter. What a waste of time
You can recover to the same degree or even better without fancy tech. Nothing gets in there like a rumble roller + theracane. The theragun looks like it just pushes your tissues around.
