“The Little Mermaid” swam to the highest of the box office on its opening night.
Disney’s live-action adaption of the 1989 movie took home $48.3 million on Friday, in response to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.
It is anticipated to enjoy a $104 million three-day weekend, in response to Deadline.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which was in third last week, landed in fifth, with $1.65 million in sales.
