As one staying in the US, I can confirm this and it very recently became this way. It's so f'ed up and annoying. I for one has been hit very hard by all of these and at this point, I am more interested in a solution because I don't think an end is near. What is the way forward for the less fortunate ones like me? How do we survive this phase? I am slowly losing my mind.

Complaining about vegetable costs seems a bit I dont know the word, fuccked up! I mean you can literally grow onions, tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes, beans, carrots, any damn vegetable you use everyday in 6 weeks. Go buy a cherry tomato cut it in half and plant them. You will yield up to 600 cherry tomatoes in 6 weeks. Talk with neighbors/community and get a community grow operation going. Everyone puts in something and grows something different. Off set your costs and the meat costs won't matter.
