A union representing flight attendants for American Airlines Group said on Thursday that the newest round of talks with the carrier didn’t result in an agreement this week.
The Association of Skilled Flight Attendants (APFA), which represents about 28,000 American Airlines flight attendants, said it has moved closer to a strike because the airline didn’t present a positive agreement.
The airline’s flight attendants, nevertheless, cannot walk off the job until the National Mediation Board (NMB) grants them permission.

The board will first should determine that each the parties are at an impasse and further bargaining wouldn’t be productive.
This lengthy and complicated process makes it reasonably difficult for airline employees to strike.
Last yr, the NMB denied a request from the union to be released from federal mediation.
American Airlines in an emailed statement to Reuters on Thursday said it’s going to proceed to barter with the union in order that its flight attendants profit from the contract.
“This agreement is nearby and we look ahead to additional dates being scheduled,” the airline spokesperson said.
