STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Swedish firms haven’t raised consumer prices by greater than is motivated by the growing costs they face, a report published by the National Institute of Economic Research (NIER) said on Tuesday.
With inflation at 30-year highs this 12 months, the previous government in August asked the think tank to have a look at whether firms were mountaineering prices greater than was justified by higher energy and other costs.
“The principal conclusion is that there are not any clear indications that consumer prices (CPIF) have risen by greater than could be motivated by increased production costs because the second quarter of 2021,” NIER said in a press release.
