Suzanne Somers’ official reason for death has been revealed.
Somers, 76, died from breast cancer, but it surely had metastasized to the brain, in response to a death certificate obtained by The Blast, which noted that a biopsy was done to verify the cause, although no autopsy took place.
Contributing aspects also included hypertension (hypertension) and hydrocephalus — a neurological disorder of the brain that involves a buildup of fluid — in response to the report.
The previous “Three’s Company” and “Step by Step” star died Oct. 15 in Palm Springs, California, after a years-long battle with cancer.
Somers was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 50s after battling skin cancer in her 30s, together with “severe hyperplasia” in her uterus.
“Even once I was Chrissy on ‘Three’s Company,’ I had had cancer thrice,” Somers told CBS News in 2020.
She passed just sooner or later before her 77th birthday.
“She survived an aggressive type of breast cancer for over 23 years,” said her longtime publicist, R. Couri Hay, adding that Somers was surrounded by her husband, Alan Hamel, her son, Bruce Somers Jr., 57, and immediate family.
Hamel told Page Six that Somers died holding his hand.
“Considered one of the things we talked about was that we knew that this present day was coming,” he said. “We thought it was going to be me [first] because I’m 10 years older than her … It was a conundrum. I said, ‘If I pass, you then’ll be alone. I can’t imagine you being alone, there isn’t a solution.’”
Hamel, 87, posted a touching tribute to his wife on Instagram the day after her death and included several photos of the loving couple, who were together for 55 years and married for 46.
“There are not any words,” Hamel wrote. “There are not any actions. No guarantees. No declarations. We’re one. I’m in love with you, my beautiful Suzanne, for all of eternity. Alan.”
Somers’ son, Bruce, also posted a tribute to his mom on Instagram.
“She was a friend, a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entertainer, an icon, and a legend he wrote. “But to me, she was just Mom. I had the privilege because the only one that could call her that. Growing up, it was us against the world. After which she took the world by storm.”
