The claws stayed put when Sarah Jessica Parker finally spoke up about Kim Cattrall’s upcoming cameo on “And Just Like That…”
The Post exclusively reported on May 31 that the Cattrall could be returning as Samantha Jones in season two of the Max series, which is about to premiere Thursday.
Now, Parker has declared Cattrall’s allegedly temporary appearance was “really fun and exciting and positively nostalgic,” in keeping with a recent Each day Mail report.
“It’s been numerous joy,” Parker, 58, added.
Rumors of a catty “mean girls” feud between the “Hocus Pocus” alum and Cattrall, 66, have swirled for years.
Other members of the forged of the “Sex and the City” sequel — including Kristin Davis (who plays Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (who reprises her role as Miranda Hobbes) — have also broken their silence on Cattrall’s much-buzzed about return.
Davis, 58, told the Telegraph last week that while she understands that fans are upset Cattrall doesn’t have a much bigger role within the spinoff, she doesn’t have any strong feelings about it.
“I’m not gonna waste energy on it. I can’t change anybody. I do understand fans’ feelings — that they’re upset … I wish I could fix it, but I can’t. It’s not in my power,” the “Couple’s Retreat” star said.
Meanwhile, Nixon, 57, had loads to say about Cattrall’s shocking return, telling Vanity Fair in a candid recent interview that the actress is “not something that we discuss.”
The “Gilded Age” actress then seemingly suggested Cattrall left the “SATC” forged “walking around on eggshells with someone who’s unhappy.”
Nixon also stressed that “AJLT” has a medley of characters who’re dissimilar from the parent series.
“It felt very different also because we have now these recent amazing characters, and we’re older and our fictional children are actually largely grown,” Nixon explained. “Many things felt different.”
She continued: “However the major thing that felt so great was that everyone who was there really wanted to be there. That’s just the underside line. All of us love one another, we love our show, we desired to do more of it. And all of us desired to be there.”
When asked if she has been in contact with Cattrall about her return to the franchise, Nixon bluntly declared: “That’s all I’m gonna say, I’m afraid. And that’s rather more than I’ve ever said to anybody.”
Jones — whose recent Netflix series “Glamorous” premieres June 22 — filmed her top secret scene without seeing or talking to any members of the show back in March at a parking garage at Silvercup Studios in Queens, where the unique “Sex and the City” series was shot nearly 20 years ago.
