A couple of tough winters is a better price to pay than mobilisation and war, which is where we’re headed if Putin isn’t stopped. Appeasement will just lead to further invasions of more countries. Continue to bleed Russia. Sanctions should be escalated further and weapon supplies to Ukraine increased.

its a good thing because we are pushed to leave gas and thus this will backfire at russia when we dont need them for it anymore.

Britain should take back over the gas they privatized. Then there wouldn't be a profit motive. Gas could go to people at cost or subsidized. It was awful for Thatcher to betray the British people by privatizing commodities to make wealthy people wealthier.

Here in sweden we have installed heat punps for decades and most homes have a wood burning stove with water inlets. Sadly this whole eu energy crisis will make electricity very expensive even here…so im prepairing for total off grid this winter.

Are these people serious? You impose sanctions and you expect Russia to allow you keep money that belongs to Russia? By the way, where is the gas turbine? Who blocked the Nordstream 2? The turbine is sitting in Germany, it's that where it's suppose to be?

I am an American who would like to hear Nord Stream pipelines 1 & 2 are operating at maximum level flooding the EU with low-cost natural gas not because I support Putin it is because I support the EU. I thought the EU is our ally

These soy-boy Europeans need to address issues as they are prepare for the reality. You are left to fend for yourselves no matter how big uncle sam is there for you. He will never do anything more than talks and some treaties. Meanwhile Uncle SAM's weapon companies are profiting off of your misery, like they did in the past from middle east wars. Russia is not your enemy, US is not your enemy, if anything bad happens, you are your own enemy for rasising soy boys.

The problem with the policy of tax cuts, is that for those who don't earn enough for to pay any tax that is open to being cut, is a non-starter. A significant number of those who work for the NHS, for example. More effective: Cut the number of lights that light up the motorways and cities at night.

Having watched the EU and the USA bully smaller countries for decades using sanctions, it is tremendously satisfying to see the bullies have met their match. May they thoroughly enjoy a taste of their own medicine.

  30. J Valentine says:

Angela Merkel totally screwed Germany and EU. China drove up coal and energy prices by banning certain countries coal and gas . Russia is creating shortages to blackmail the EU . Idiot environmentalists have been closing down Nuclear and coal fired power stations when there was NO viable alternative . Trusting Russia to supply your energy needs is pure lunacy .
