Only a yr after his passing, Ray Liotta’s explanation for death has been disclosed.
The “Goodfellas” icon died in his sleep from pulmonary edema and acute heart failure, based on documents obtained by TMZ.
The outlet reported that Lotta had fluid in his lungs, suffered from repository issues and his death was “categorized as natural and nonviolent.”
The publication also noted that Liotta was battling atherosclerosis, a condition where one’s arteries develop into thick resulting in plaque buildup.
Liotta was just 67 years old when he died in May 2022 and was in the course of filming his movie “Dangerous Waters” within the Dominican Republic.
On the time of his death, the “Field of Dreams” alum was engaged to fiancée Jacy Nittolo and his 24-year-old daughter, Karsen.
Liotta filmed a mess of projects before he died akin to the TV series “Black Bird” for Apple, Elizabeth Banks’ horror comedy “Cocaine Bear” and the satire “Idiot’s Paradise.”
As for “Dangerous Waters,” the thriller has yet to have a release date and is directed by John Barr. Eric Dane, Saffron Burrows and Odeya Rush co-star.
The Latest Jersey native was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past February, with Karsen paying an attractive tribute to her late dad.
“I’m so touched to be accepting this honor on behalf of my dad. I couldn’t be more pleased with him,” she said in the course of the Los Angeles ceremony. “He was a one-of-a-kind actor and the most effective friend, brother and father anyone could have asked for. I lucked out with you.”
“If you’ve gotten a Ray in your life, you’re lucky. I like you a lot,” she added. “Thanks on your work and the imprint you left on me and all of those that love you. Everyone deserves a Ray of their life.”
Following Liotta’s death, Nittolo, 48, posted a series of photos of herself with him and looked back on their relationship.
“My life these past couple of years have been nothing but truly magical,” she began her emotional caption.
“Ray and I share a deep love that I’ll cherish in my heart endlessly. We laughed every day and we were inseparable. The chemistry was wild in one of the simplest ways. He was all the pieces on this planet to me and we couldn’t get enough of one another. The form of real love that one dreams of.”
“He was probably the most beautiful person in and out that I’ve ever known…and even that’s an understatement.”
