Pete Alonso exited Wednesday’s game after taking a pitch off his wrist against the Braves.
The Mets slugger dropped to the bottom after Charlie Morton’s 0-1 pitch in the highest of the primary inning hit him on the left wrist.
Alonso quickly got up and walked to first, though manager Buck Showalter removed him from the sport before he could run the bases.
It didn’t appear Morton was attempting to bean Alonso.
The situation occurred a day after Alonso slugged a house run against Atlanta’s Bryce Elder, after which taunted him from the dugout.
Braves fans appeared to chant “Throw it again” as Alonso headed into the Mets dugout after Atlanta trolled Alonso on Tuesday night after Recent York blew a lead and lost, 6-4.
