SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration confirmed Friday that it’s investigating a death that occurred at a Sioux Falls packaging facility earlier this week.
OSHA spokesperson Scott Allen said investigators were speaking with employees and the owner of Bell Inc. to find out what happened within the Tuesday incident. The Argus Leader reports Allen was not capable of disclose how the worker died or any identifying details.
Ben Arndt, the chief operating officer of Bell, released a press release saying the corporate was saddened by the lack of an worker.
“Bell Incorporated may even proceed to cooperate with the authorities and investigators to raised understand how this incident occurred. The security and well-being of our employees stays our top priority,” Arndt wrote.
OSHA has as much as six months to research the death and determine if the corporate violated any safety standards.

Bell Inc.’s website says it’s a Sioux Falls-based packaging company that focuses on food packaging, mail envelopes and consumer products.
