Subvariants of the Omicron strain and an uptick in summer travel and gatherings is fueling a new wave of COVID-19 infections. And as monkeypox cases also rise, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that high risk individuals get that vaccine. Dr. Celine Gounder, editor-at-large for public health at Kaiser Health News and an infectious disease specialist, joins “CBS News Mornings” to discuss.

The left claims that it is racist to accurately state that SARS Cov2 arose in Wuhan, China….not not at all ….A better description of racism is Megan Rapinoe a soccer player who mocked the eyes of an Asian competitor…the person Biden just gave the highest civilian honor..the Presidential Medal of Freedom…Racism is also characterized by Hunter specifying his choice of pros titutes..by demanding as he indicated "no yellow !"……

My whole family got covid after the 4th of july weekend. It sucks. We let our guard down for a birthday party. We are vaccinated so no serious illness but it's still unpleasant to deal with. One member lost their sense of taste and smell surprisingly. The rest of us just have muscle aches, dry cough, runny nose, fatigue.

It is time that our government AND the media understand that the American people DO NOT FEAR COVID, the American people DO NOT FEAR THE GOVERNMENT, what the American people fear is the DEATH OF FREEDOM.
We have suffered through loss, not the loss of things that can be replaced but the loss of PEOPLE WE CAN NEVER REPLACE.

    I have a few questions:
    1) how do doctors really know what variant people are contracting?
    2) Are doctors just assuming this is what a person has or is it that the other variance have completely disappeared?
    3) from the data, who is at more risk of re-infection and hospitalization, Is it the unvaccinated, single vaccinated, double vaccinated, triple vaccinated?
    4) In light of what is happening now, reinfections and hospitalizations requiring critical care, shouldn’t alternative methods of treatment be promoted??

Can we stop all this gloom news? People also die in accidents every minute. Then what? I am vaccinated, you are vaccinated, go about your lives and act sensible. Avoid large crowds and wear a mask if you want to. There are always knuckleheads who don't want to be vaccinated or don't believe in social distancing etc. Avoidance it really a very powerful instrument. It works! And please NO MORE TESTING FOR TRAVELERS! A valid passport is all you should need.
