Meg Barber’s first five years as NYU’s women’s basketball coach got here and not using a true home game. Natalie Bruns’ recruiting visit to Mercer Street got here without seeing a court.
“I just saw a hole in the bottom,” Bruns said.
As NYU awaited the completion of construction on its latest home court — delayed multiple times by the pandemic — the Violets became nomads, hosting games on the Brooklyn Athletic Facility, Hunter College, St. Francis Brooklyn and Westchester’s Pace University.
Practices were held on the Palladium on 14th Street, where partitions hug the sidelines and 6 baskets surround the court.
