I like Friedman but he's wrong here. China's policy is ridiculous and it has been for a long time. It's time to move toward some space for recognition that Taiwan and China are 2 separate countries. If China cannot get over that and tries to impose colonialism la Ukraine style in 2022, then that's on China. And it would end disastrously for them, even in a so-called "win."
