A quick-moving system will sweep across the Northeast on Sunday and Monday when snowflakes could fly as far south because the Recent York City tri-state area for the primary time this season.
Much of the Interstate 95 corridor has yet to choose up measurable snowfall this season. While nearly all of this upcoming snow will remain confined to the inside Northeast, the FOX Forecast Center can’t rule out some snow attempting to sneak into a number of of the larger cities.
“We’re keeping our fingers crossed near and dear that we’ll pick up a few inches within the metro areas of the Big Apple,” FOX Weather meteorologist Michael Estime said. “Nevertheless it’s really going to be up toward the Finger Lakes of Recent York, Syracuse, Buffalo, Albany, Recent York, where we’ll see the lion’s share of the snow.”
A couple of inches of snow is anticipated from Sunday into Monday across the inside Northeast, including much of Recent York state, northern Pennsylvania and western Recent England. Light accumulations of snow are also possible as far south as northern Recent Jersey, but closer to I-95, there’ll likely be more rain than snow.
Regardless, if enough cold air is on the market to vary the rain over to a period of snow in cities comparable to Recent York, Bridgeport in Connecticut or Windfall in Rhode Island, it might be their first snowfall of the season.
“The caveat is that we now have three major airports — we now have LaGuardia, we now have JFK, we now have Newark Liberty Airport — flight delays could possibly be a really real issue as we head into Sunday after which into Monday as well,” Estime said. “Not to say setting out the brand new workweek with travel disruptions on the roadways as well.”
