It’s for your personal good.
Comedian Cindy Arena posted a clip to her TikTok account, @cindyarenacomedy, reminiscing in regards to the time she didn’t have to take a seat next to her children on a flight, calling it “so peaceful.”
Within the one-minute clip with over 1.6 million views, Arena discusses the controversial topic of trading airplane seats to take a seat together with your children.
“Should you don’t have a seat next to your kids, should the person who’s sitting next to your kids move, so you’ll be able to sit with them?” Arena said.
“No, allow them to stay together with your kids!”
The mother mentioned she asked a passenger seated next to her two children, who were 4 and 6 years old, to trade seats so she might be next to them, however the grumpy traveler declined.
“I said okay, no problem. I’m not going to argue, and I went to the back of the plane and went and sat in my assigned seat because she wouldn’t give hers up.”
Unlike most mothers, who would have thrown a fit about sitting away from their children, Arena sighed with relief, looking forward to a calming flight.
While Arena basked within the time away from her children, she knew it wouldn’t last for long.
“Finally the stewardess comes up [and] I do know she’s coming because this b – – ch,” Arena said, referring to the opposite passenger, “is sitting next to my kids and there’s nothing fun about that.”
Because the mother expected, the flight attendant asked if the passenger could switch seats with Arena.
Nevertheless, the comedian immediately declined the request.
“Oh no. No we want to remain in our assigned seats,” Arena snarkily demands. “Have a great flight.”
The Post has reached out to Arena for comment.
Some parents disagreed with Arena’s tactic, sharing their thoughts in comments on the TikTok viral video.
“What form of parent books seats that aren’t with their kids?” one asked.
“No! Plan accordingly and pay to your seats ahead of time,” agreed one other.
“Buy seats together. It’s not her problem, only yours,” a watcher chimed in.
Nevertheless, the unexpected response to this scenario had many individuals laughing on the passenger’s predicament.
“I really like malicious compliance,” laughed one person.
“I wasn’t sure what direction this was headed, nevertheless it didn’t disappoint,” one other wrote.
“Should you don’t have the selection to book seats, then GIRL I AGREE,” a lady joked. “Let her sit next to your kids. Allow them to cause havoc.”
