The Knicks appear to have sidestepped danger with Jalen Brunson, who practiced Sunday after turning his ankle Friday.
Mitchell Robinson doesn’t appear to have been as lucky.
The Knicks’ starting center didn’t practice and was sent for further testing on his ankle, which he injured Friday in Boston.
Coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t reveal the character of the testing and said he didn’t know if the injury could keep Robinson out for long.
“Until we get the report, it’s just speculation,” Thibodeau said after practice.
Robinson hurt his ankle in the primary half of the loss to the Celtics and required X-rays, which Thibodeau had said got here back negative.
Robinson was not on the bench for the beginning of the second half but returned soon thereafter and played nearly five minutes of the third quarter before sitting for the fourth. After the sport, Thibodeau said Robinson was “positive.”
Robinson is amongst the very best rebounders within the NBA and a valued rim protector. The 7-footer missing time can be a blow for the Knicks, who likely would plug in Isaiah Hartenstein as starter.
“I felt all along that one in every of our strengths was that [center] position,” Thibodeau said.
