They were feeling pretty fearless.
The Minnesota Vikings poked fun at Taylor Swift’s absence during their game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The now-viral TikTok — posted on ESPN’s official page — has received nearly 2.2 million views. Within the clip, Viktor the Viking pushes a metal cabinet before it falls over, causing the mascot to go searching guilty before dashing away.
“Was Taylor Swift in there?” read the in-video caption, which teased how the “Anti-Hero” songstress would arrive in a cleansing closet at her “Eras Tour” live shows so as to avoid being mobbed by her legions of fans.
ESPN’s video sparked a mixed response within the video’s comment section with several users claiming, “I hope so.”
“Why are all these people saying they hope she was in there like they’re mad for no reason,” questioned a second person.
A 3rd user joked that the Vikings, who lost to the Chiefs in a 27 to twenty game, posted the video because of the loss.
The video can also be an homage to a previous viral TikTok taken at Arrowhead Stadium, which showed staff members wheeling an enormous gray box adorned with an enormous bag of popcorn. Some onlookers on the time jokingly thought Swift may very well be hidden within the cart. She attended the Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears on the time, and was later spotted leaving the stadium with Kelce, 34.
Swift’s rumored romance with the Chiefs tight end began after the two-time Super Bowl champ lamented failing to present her his number during her “Eras Tour” stop in Kansas City in July.
The “Bejeweled” songstress, who’s on a break from her record-breaking tour, broke the web when she showed up at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer him on alongside his mom, Donna Kelce.
Swift attended her second Chiefs game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Recent Jersey, on Oct. 1. She her famous pals, including recently single “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner, 27, Blake Energetic, 36, Hugh Jackman, 54, and Ryan Reynolds, 46, watched the Chiefs narrowly beat the Recent York Jets 23 to twenty.
Director Shawn Levy was also readily available, later calling the “frenzy” a bit “depressing” for him.
“I could make 50 more hit movies and shows and I”ll still be referred to as the guy within the orange suede jacket going to the Chiefs-Jets game with Taylor and others,” he told Variety days later.
“It was so simple as, ‘Wait, we will go to an NFL game with our buddies? Let’s do it.’ We had a glimmer that perhaps there can be others but nothing prepared us for the frenzy of attention that was that outing,” he added. “Very fun night but definitely, I’ve known famous people but Taylor is unquestionably a culture magnet unlike anything I’ve seen.”
Kelce, for his part, desires to “respect” each his and Swift moving forward as they proceed to make headlines.
“She’s not within the media as much as I’m doing this show each week and having fun through the NFL season on other guys’ shows,” he said on a recent episode of his “Recent Heights” podcast. “Every little thing moving forward, I feel me talking about sports … will sort of must be where I keep it.”
Chiefs exec Mark Donovan, meanwhile, said that Kelce is “focused on the best things and doing it the best way” in relation to the additional attention he’s been receiving.
“Travis is a great team player,” Donovan, who joined the Chiefs as chief operating officer in 2009 and was promoted to president in 2011, recently told People. “He can handle it and has been very skilled.”
