Michelle Williams has found her next gig.
The “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 43, will narrate the audiobook of Britney Spears’ much-anticipated upcoming memoir “The Woman in Me” following much speculation over who would recite it.
People confirmed that Williams can be coming on board while the “Toxic” pop princess, 41, will record an introduction.
“This book has been a labor of affection and all of the emotions that include it,” Spears told the outlet in an announcement.
“Reliving every little thing has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I’ll only be reading a small a part of my audiobook,” she added.
The music legend went on: “I’m so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the remaining of it.”
Williams, for her part, chimed in: “I stand with Britney.”
Simon & Schuster’s imprint Gallery Books will drop Spears’ book on Oct. 24 and the audiobook version can be released at the identical time.
“‘The Woman in Me’ is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,” the publisher described the 288-page bombshell opus.
They added: “Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a girl telling her own story, on her own terms, finally.”
One theory as to why the “Crossroads” star may not wish to read aloud her own words, just because she feels it’s “an excessive amount of” to relive her past, in line with a TMZ report published in July.
Spears and her team reportedly got here up with a listing of names of potential candidates to record the memoir on the time.
The title of the book is a reference to her hit tune “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,” especially the road: “I’m not a woman, don’t tell me what to consider / I’m just tryin’ to seek out the girl in me.”
The book was first announced in February 2022, however it was allegedly delayed over concerns among the many A-listers mentioned within the book.
“Britney is brutally honest within the book — there are loads of nervous A-listers,” a source dished to The Sun in May.
“Strongly worded legal letters have been sent to the publishers by individuals who know Britney and who fear what she has written,” the insider said. “There isn’t any movement for the time being, and there are concerns over when it’ll eventually find a way to return out.”
