Matthew Perry’s lunch date before his tragic death has come forward to emphasise that the “Friends” star was in good spirits a mere 24 hours before his apparent drowning.
Athenna Crosby, a 25-year-old model and entertainment reporter, identified herself because the brunette who accompanied Perry to the Hotel Bel-Air on Friday in what can be his final public sighting.
“I’m so devastated from his death but felt it was in poor taste to discuss it publicly as the eye shouldn’t be on me but moderately on him and his legacy and he was an especially private person and I all the time respected that in our friendship,” Crosby wrote Wednesday on her Instagram Story.
She added: “But indeed, we were friends and I used to be certainly one of the last people to talk to him and see him before he passed.”
The Venezuelan citizen told TMZ that the lunch date was not romantic and that the pair met through a mutual friend a number of months ago.
Crosby claimed Perry, 54, was in “extremely good spirits” once they frolicked, and he spoke “enthusiastically in regards to the things that he had coming up in his life. He was so glad and vibrant.”
Moreover, she claimed the “Fools Rush In” star was enthusiastic about shedding pounds and playing pickleball the next day.
The Post has contacted Crosby for comment.
Perry reportedly played pickleball for 2 hours on Saturday before he was found dead in his hot tub just hours later.
Perry’s alleged drowning was not the results of a fentanyl or meth overdose, initial tests show, based on reports on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, more in-depth tests are currently being conducted as a part of the toxicology, which might take months to ascertain an official reason for death.
Perry battled with a drug and alcohol addiction throughout his life. He claimed he was 18 months sober when his book “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir” was released on Nov. 1, 2022.
Perry was best known for taking part in Chandler Bing on “Friends” for 10 years. His co-stars broke their silence on his death on Monday.
“We’re all so utterly devastated by the lack of Matthew. We were greater than just forged mates. We’re a family,” Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc told People “In time we are going to say more, as and once we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everybody who loved him world wide.”
Up to now, Schwimmer and Cox have individually been photographed looking somber following Perry’s death.
