Maryland and Virginia were longtime ACC rivals before the Terrapins bolted for the Big Ten in 2014.
The Terrapins and Cavaliers are meeting on the gridiron for the primary time since 2013 on Friday night in College Park with Maryland listed as a shade over a two-touchdown favorite.
Virginia was blown out in its season opener against Tennessee, 49-13 as a 27.5-point underdog in Nashville.
The Cavaliers were outgained, 499-201, and allowed the Volunteers to select up 29 first downs.
Virginia showed more last week in its home opener against up-and-coming in-state rival James Madison.
The Cavaliers trailed 14-0 out of the gate as 6.5-point underdogs but rallied to take a 35-24 fourth quarter lead.
Unfortunately, JMU scored the ultimate 12 points of the sport for the 36-35 win, but UVA grabbed the duvet.

The Terrapins have did not cover heavy points spreads of their first two games, but Virginia’s defense has been torn up to this point this season.
Following Virginia’s tough loss last week to JMU, this may occasionally be a difficult spot for the Cavaliers to rise up for, even against a regional foe.
