The celebrities of “The Crown” will hang up their tiaras and teacups after the hit Netflix drama concludes this fall.
As anticipation for the royal series builds, the streamer released only a tiny tidbit of what’s to return when Season 6 premieres later this 12 months.
The corporate posted a tweet on Monday teasing one plot point of the season — Prince (now King) Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles (now Queen Camilla)’s 2005 wedding.
Alongside a scene showing the nuptials’ wedding invite, they wrote: “After six seasons, seven years and three casts, @TheCrownNetflix involves an end later this 12 months.”
“We’ll be back with more soon, but here’s a touch at what’s to are available in our final season.”
The cardboard noted the marital ceremony as April 9, 2005, at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle — details that mirror real life, as Camilla, 75, and Charles, 74, did wed on that date and place.
Camilla was given the title of the Duchess of Cornwall following her marriage. Charles’ sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, in addition to Camilla’s son, Tom, and daughter, Laura, were also in attendance on the lavish event.
The ultimate series will take fans into the fashionable era, and can showcase how the royal family endured the tumultuous late ‘90s and into the early 2000s.
Dominic West is reprising his role as the previous Prime of Wales while Olivia Williams is portraying Camilla.
Each stars appeared in last 12 months’s Season 5.
Other returning stars include Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce because the Duke of Edinburgh and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.
Elizabeth Debicki is coming back because the late Princess Diana, and viewers will see how her 1997 death plays out on screen this 12 months.
College-aged versions of William, 41, and his now-wife Kate Middleton might be played by Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy.
The series will show how the couple met while studying at Scotland’s University of St Andrews back in 2001.
Actor Luther Ford is playing a young and rebellious Harry. One conflict that the season will even tackle is the aftermath of Harry’s infamous Nazi costume scandal of 2005.
