The Queen of Pop was busy recording music with fellow chart-topper Katy Perry hours before her shocking collapse last weekend, The Sun reports.
Madonna, 64, was found unresponsive in her NYC home Saturday and admitted to the intensive care unit. She has since been released from the hospital following her bacterial infection diagnosis.
“Madonna has long admired Katy, and so they have worked together before, but never managed to truly put anything out,” an unidentified source told The Sun of Perry, 38.
Apparently, the “Material Girl” singer was “working across the clock” to high-quality tune her music and upcoming tour, which “are second to none,” the source claimed.
“Obviously every part has been placed on hold now, but the actual fact she was within the studio with Katy just hours before being rushed to the ICU shows how determined she was to push ahead despite feeling unwell,” the source alleged.
The Post has reached out to reps for Perry and Madonna for comment.
The day before she was found unresponsive, the “Like a Virgin” singer was seen strolling through Manhattan, stopping by the Metropolitan Museum of Art to view the Karl Lagerfeld exhibit.
Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed her hospitalization Wednesday, saying the “Evita” star had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay within the ICU.”
She was reportedly intubated on the hospital, but is anticipated to make a full recovery.
She appears to have been discharged Thursday.
Sources told TMZ she has been bedridden and vomiting since leaving the hospital.
Reports say she suffered a monthlong fever as she persevered through strenuous rehearsals for her upcoming “Celebration” Tour, which has since been placed on pause.
The 84-date stretch across North America and Europe was slated to kick off July 15.
“This really woke her the f–k up,” a family insider told the Day by day Mail.
The source claimed Madge has been leading an unhealthy life by “wearing herself thin,” believing “that she is invincible.”
“She is going to put her profession and her fame before her health until the day she is dead,” the source claimed.
TMZ reported the seven-time Grammy winner’s family members are concerned that because she “doesn’t wish to cancel her tour,” she is going to not rest enough to completely recuperate.
In reality, her family looked as if it would fear the worst when she was hospitalized.
“For the past couple of days, nobody really knew which direction this was going to show, and her family was preparing for the worst,” a relative told the Day by day Mail.
“Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the fact of the situation.”
