Visitors to Movie World amusement park in Australia were stuck on one in all the tallest roller-coasters on the planet after a loose scarf became entangled across the train wheel.
Reaching speeds of as much as 71mph, the DC Rivals HyperCoaster is the tallest, longest and fastest rollercoaster within the Southern Hemisphere.
In a press release, Warner Bros Movie World said highly-trained ride operators used their control system to soundly stop the ride on the lift hill as a precaution about 3 pm Queensland time.
“The ride operator and the ride’s safety systems have done what they’re trained and designed to do, and all of the guests on-board are secure with the ride vehicle stopped in a delegated zone,” the statement read.
“Our team are within the technique of exiting these guests down the lift hill, which is a process we frequently train for and easily requires the guests to walk down the steps to the load station.
“Resulting from the peak of the lift hill, we’ll provide a harness for the guests.”
The ride will probably be operational again after the headband is removed.
“We understand ride stoppages will be frustrating for guests and it’s for reasons corresponding to these why loose items aren’t permitted to be taken on-board rides and attractions,” the statement read.
“We encourage guests to follow all instructions of our operators.”
The last of the passengers reached the bottom about 6 pm local time.
