Liam Payne has postponed a planned South American tour as he continues to get well from a kidney infection.
“This really is the last news I need to be telling you but mainly I’ve been a bit of bit unwell recently,” the One Direction alum addressed fans in an Instagram video Friday.
“I ended up in hospital with a nasty kidney infection. We began rehearsals and I’ve been advised that now is de facto not the proper time to be traveling on the road while I get well from this.”
The “Strip That Down” songster added that he has “one of the best people around me at home attempting to help me get well ” and his team will work to reschedule the tour.
Last month, the boy band grad revealed he spent 100 days in a rehab facility to “recover” after a public spat along with his former One Direction bandmates on Logan Paul’s “Impulsive” podcast.
“I sort of became someone who I didn’t recognize and I’m sure you didn’t either,” Payne told fans in a YouTube video on July 8.
“I used to be in bad shape as much as that time. I used to be really glad greater than anything after I arrived to sort of put a stopper on life and work. I didn’t have my phone for nearly 100 days,” he added.
One Direction has been on hiatus since 2015.
