In 1988, Senior NASA Scientist Dr James Hanson sat before Congress and said in his speech that Global Warming has been detected. It is caused by the burning of Coal, Oil and Natural gas. Co2 emissions is the result of the burning of fossil fuels. He predicted by 2050, the world will see a rapid increase of Floods, Droughts and Heat Waves. In the early 2000s, scientist were shocked to see that the atmphere co2 levels were FAR more sensitive to trapping heat then what was to be predicted in the 2050s.
Since 2005, I was driving in the Interior of BC Canada and witnessed the first evidence of Climate Change. The Arctic was warming three times the rate of all other countries!! it is having a impact on the rest of earth. Methane and co2 are being released at a rapid rate. Co2 is the most important gas, as it traps heat in the atmphere not allowing some of the Ir heat to escape into space. This is called the heating effect. 90% of that heat energy is being absorbed by the worlds oceans. That is equal to 17 x 10 ^ 22 Jules heat energy or 5 Hiroshima Thermal Nuclear Bombs of heat energy. In the past decade the heating effect of the worlds oceans has accelerated. That is causing a rapid acceleration of evaporation into the atmphere. That is flooding the worlds atmphere with far more moisture then any other time in the past 10,000 years and is causing more flooding events around the world. SE Asia has seen several major devastating flooding events this past Lanina that are similar to this. Germany has seen a flood that devastated part of the country contributing to 300 deaths.
Crazy just north, we've had some rain in the past week, but other than that, it's been a drought
So sad that this is happening. Climate change is real, but no bipartisan political willpower to do anything about it so buckle up America.
