Tony Gonzalez tried his best to get the news on the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift dating rumors.
After the Eagles’ 34-28 win over the Vikings on “Thursday Night Football,” Gonzalez, a Hall of Fame tight end and now an analyst on the pregame, halftime and postgame shows, asked Jason Kelce about his brother’s dating life.
Earlier within the week, a report from The Messenger emerged that Travis was “quietly hanging out” with the “Blank Space” singer.
So, Gonzalez tried to get information from Jason about what’s actually happening.
“So that you discuss family, I actually have a 15-year-old daughter, and she or he’s an enormous fan of a certain pop star, and you could have a member of the family — a brother — and I’ve been hearing rumors, perhaps some stuff. Are you able to comment?” Gonzalez asked.
Jason, for his part, replied with a cagey “Style.”
“I’ve seen these rumors, I cannot comment,” the Eagles center said.
Analyst Richard Sherman even had more fun with it: “What are we happening TMZ? What are we doing?!” he asked.
But, undeterred by his co-host’s astonishment, Gonzalez followed up and said the knowledge was for his daughter.
“Ever since ‘Catching Kelce,’ everybody has been infatuated with Travis’ love life,” Jason replied. “I don’t really know what’s happening there. I do know Trav is having fun.”
“We’ll see what happens with whoever he finally ends up with,” he added with an enormous laugh.
Host Clarissa Thompson joked that she could get Gonzalez a job together with her on the entertainment show “Extra,” where she also works.
On an episode of the Kelce brothers’ “Recent Heights” podcast every week before the dating rumors began to swirl, Travis said he was still “searching” for love.
“I believed you were searching for love?” Jason said.
“Yeah, that too. Still trying to find it,” Travis replied with fun.
“F—k! 10 years later and still nothing.”
Earlier this summer, Kelce admitted to trying — and failing — to offer Swift his phone number at an Eras Tour concert.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or no less than she didn’t want to fulfill me. So, I took it personal.”
Only time will tell if the All-Pro tight end and the world-famous pop star can have their very own “Love Story.”
