A source near Jamie Foxx claimed Wednesday that the actor is “still not himself” after suffering a mysterious illness in April that landed him within the hospital.
“He’s getting the most effective care and dealing hard to recuperate right away, but he remains to be not himself,” the unidentified source told People magazine. “He has the tightest circle around him.”
The news comes a mere hours after Foxx, 55, chatted with co-star John Boyega, 31, who had been attempting to contact his friend several times.
“He finally picked up the phone. Thanks, bro,” the “Star Wars” actor told the outlet on the premiere of “They Cloned Tyrone,” which stars each Boyega and Foxx.
“He’s doing well. After which, you already know, we just giving him the privacy, and we are able to’t wait for his return,” he said.
“I gave him the well-wishes directly. I gave him all of the well-wishes,” continued Boyega. “So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”
Datari Turner, who co-produced the film with Foxx, shared a sunnier update claiming that the “Spider-Man” actor would soon be back at work.
“He’s doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good,” said Turner, 44. “[Director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really fine condition and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.”
The Post reached out to Foxx for comment.
Foxx disappeared from the general public eye on April 11 after he reportedly suffered a “medical complication” while filming Netflix motion comedy “Back in Motion” in Atlanta.
The star’s daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, shared an announcement on her Instagram story the subsequent day.
“We desired to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” the statement read. “Luckily, attributable to quick motion and great care, he’s already on his strategy to recovery. We understand how beloved he’s and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Since then, there was scant news in regards to the “Ray” Oscar winner.
In late April it was revealed that the actor was “awake and alert,” while doctors attempted to determine what medical ailment Foxx suffered.
Foxx later issued an announcement via Instagram thanking his fans for his or her love and support.
Because of the star’s continued hospitalization, several conspiracy theories circulated, including that the COVID-19 vaccine caused Foxx’s hospitalization.
The “Sleepless” star’s PR team immediately shot that down, saying it was “completely inaccurate.”
