Meghan McCain has no regrets about exiting “The View.”
The conservative pundit, 38, left the talk show in 2021 following frequent squabbles with co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
In a recent interview with The Messenger, McCain revealed why she not tunes in to the ABC gabfest, saying: “You recognize, it’s sort of like an ex-boyfriend’s Instagram — it’s just not great for you.”
The outspoken mom-of-two added that she’s also busy together with her recent podcast, “Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat.”
“I don’t have time to look at this sort of content” she declared. “[But] I do take heed to a number of podcasts.”
Nonetheless, McCain admits that she “still misses the wardrobe people” after working with them during her 4 years on the chat show.
The daughter of the late John McCain appeared on “The View” from 2017 until 2021.
After quitting, she was replaced by Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.
“I just love getting dressed up,” she gushed. “So I miss the wardrobe people probably the most, they usually’re very kind. They’ve been the wardrobe people your complete history of the show.”
Since departing the series, McCain has routinely explained why she selected to drop the job from her résumé.
The columnist dished in her memoir, “Bad Republican” in 2021 that she believed that Goldberg and Behar had treated her horribly for having conservative views.
“You’ll be able to’t imagine the way it messes together with your self-esteem working in an environment where the worst thing you’ll be able to be on the planet is a Republican throughout the Trump years,” McCain wrote.
The Arizona native continued: “Because the country got worse under Trump, the treatment from Whoopi, Joy and a number of the staff grew meaner and fewer forgiving.”
“It was as if I had turn into an avatar for the whole lot they hated in regards to the president,” she further wrote. “It felt just like the co-hosts and staff only knew one Republican — me — and took out all their anger on me, regardless that I didn’t even vote for Trump.”
