Good luck getting your boss to imagine this one should you sleep in.
iPhone users are lamenting that a subtle setting is causing their essential clock alarms to not ring out — especially within the morning.
“It’s ridiculous & it’s made me sleep through multiple school drop-offs,” one Reddit user claimed in an iPhone 15 forum highlighting the issue.
“I also thought something was improper with me once I one way or the other slept through all 10 alarms,” commented one other.
However the commenter who continually made his kids late for learning believes he has found the source of the silent problem.
They imagine it has something to do with an obscure camera feature called Attention Aware.
In accordance with Apple, it allows an iPhone to “check whether you’re taking note of your device and mechanically take motion.”
Some users, just like the one on Reddit, have noticed that alarms may inadvertently go silent because this feature has the impression persons are already taking a look at their phones and powers down the wake-up call.
The strategy to shut down the function, per Apple, is to enter settings, then “Face ID & Passcode” and toggle the switch for “Attention Aware Features” to off.
One other potential cause, users claim, is that a comparatively latest feature called StandBy mode — wherein the iPhone shows a sensible display of widgets — can be presumably interfering with their alarms.
That may be deactivated by looking for StandBy in settings.
Others suggest a root cause may very well be that having alarms stacked one on top of the opposite in a brief timeframe can inadvertently deactivate each other.
“Physical alarm is within the mail,” the tardy drop-off parent jokingly wrote.
