Need to clarify this is for 1099 drivers who are in lease to buy programs. A driver who owns their own truck or have a truck loan should be unaffected. They need to get their own authority but that isn’t too hard

I can see a multitude of truckers swapping containers in cities just outside the California border. California trucks could become day cabs, since many of them will now be limited to short runs. It will ruin some of them financially. The railroads and union leadership found a way to control freight and pile both money and power. They did forget that Oregon and Washington state have p[orts as well, the east coast has ports as well. My considered opinion is the law turns from a short term "LW to a long term and difficult to reverse or explain "L" for much of California. I used to carry produce from CA to points all along the east coast. Many of the drivers who loaded there were owner operators. The American public will pay heavily for this disaster.
