She’s an actual “Woman.”
When asked recently why she thinks people “go crazy” over her seemingly outrageous antics, singer/rapper Doja Cat suggested perhaps they don’t see her as a “real” human being.
“My theory is that if someone has never met me in real life, then, subconsciously, I’m not real to them,” the “Must Know” hitmaker said in a latest Harper’s Bazaar cover story. “So when people turn out to be engaged with someone they don’t even know on the web, they sort of take ownership over that person.
“They think that person belongs to them in some sense. And when that person changes drastically, there’s a shock response that is nearly uncontrollable,” continued the 27-year-old singer. “ I’ve accepted that that’s what happens. So I put my wigs on and take them off. I shave my head or my eyebrows. I even have all the liberty on the planet.”
Doja’s remarks come nearly a month after she told her fans who named themselves “Kittenz” to “get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the home.”
“My fans don’t get to call themselves s—t,” the “Boss Bitch” singer declared in a series of since-deleted tweets.
“What should i modify my name to because you don’t just like the term kitten,” one fan asked the Grammy-winning songstress.
“Just delete your complete account and rethink all the pieces it’s never too late,” Doja snapped back.
Her bluntness resulted in her losing 250,000 Instagram followers — something she claimed made her “be happy” on Wednesday
“Seeing all these people unfollow makes me feel like I’ve defeated a big beast that’s been holding me down for thus long and it seems like I can reconnect with the individuals who really matter and love me for who I’m and never for who I used to be,” Doja wrote in an Instagram Story. “I be happy.”
