An Illinois father tragically died five days after helping his 12-year-old daughter gather food donations for her Girl Scout Troop.
Aaron LaMore, 45, was riding within the automotive’s open hatchback when he fell backward out of the automotive and hit his head on the pavement on Nov. 6, in response to the Patch.
“They didn’t even get to the primary house when he lost his footing,” Ryan Talaga, LaMore’s brother-in-law told the outlet.
The automotive was reported to only be going about five miles an hour when LaMore lost his footing.
LaMore, an Army veteran, was transported to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois to be evaluated, in response to the family’s GoFundMe page.
In keeping with Patch, LaMore suffered multiple fractures and swelling around his skull and was bleeding from the brain.
LaMore went into cardiac arrest for several minutes before he was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital.
He was placed on life support because of this of the “grave injuries,” and died on Veteran’s Day. LaMore leaves behind his wife of 16 years Erin and their daughter, Mia.
A GoFundMe page was created to assist cover expenses, medical expenses and Mia’s education.
As of Saturday morning, the page has raised over $36,000.
