Iggy Azalea isn’t afraid to show the tables on her critics.
Over the weekend, the Australian rapper performed at halftime in the course of the Raiders’ game against the Texans in Las Vegas. Although the gang at Allegiant Stadium appeared to soak up the show, one reporter didn’t seem thrilled about watching the “Fancy” crooner live.
“The mix of Allegiant Stadium attempting to make BBQ and Iggy Azalea acting at halftime is gonna make me depressed,” The Athletic’s Tashan Reed tweeted Sunday.
Azalea, 32, caught wind of Reed’s comments and responded to the Raiders beat reporter the next day.
“In case you think you’re depressed now I’ll spare you the tears you’d cry knowing what my paycheck was to return and jiggle a lil ass,” Azalea tweeted early Monday.
Reed then apologized to the Grammy nominee, posting a GIF of a puppy with the word “sorry” written across the animation.
A short while after the exchange went viral, Azalea made it clear that her verbal volley with Reed was all in good fun.
“He made a joke & I made a joke,” Azalea tweeted.
Although Azalea’s weekend took an unexpected turn, the performer expressed on Twitter that she had an “amazing” time during Raiders’ game day.
“I had a tremendous day in Vegas today!” Azalea wrote. “My first time seeing a football game live & they won! Thanks @Raiders and their fans, Everyone across the stage really hyped me up & I appreciated it such as you’ll never know because I used to be very, very nervous!”
The Raiders topped the Texans on Sunday, 38-20, and logged their second win of the season.
